If the Shoe Fits...

Summer is the perfect time to get into the exercise groove or change up your old exercise routine.  If you are trying out new sports, be sure to have the proper footwear.  Check out these tips from APMA for getting the proper shoes for your next sport.

Basketball Shoes Should....
  • A thick, stiff sole to give support for running and landing from jumps
  • High ankle construction to support the ankle during quick changes in direction
Racquetball/Tennis Shoes Should...

  • Support both sides of the foot for quick lateral movement and weight shifts
  • Have a flexible sole for fast changes of direction
  • Have less shock absorption than a running or basketball shoes
Running Shoes Should....

  • Have maximum shock protection to avoid knee pain and shin splints
  • Control the way your foot strikes the ground
  • Have the right support for your foot
