Ditch the Shoe, Not the Sport

According to a recent study done by the APMA, the most common cause of foot pain in teens is related to sports.  If you are a teen, or have a teenager, don't let footpain keep you out of the game!  Your feet may be causing you pain because of those five-year old running shoes you keep shoving them in.  It is extremely important to have proper footwear for your sport and this means replacing old and worn out shoes when the time is right.

If you are worried about being green, don't worry! You can save your feet and the earth at the same time.  There are several programs dedicated to recycling old and worn out tennis shoes.  For example, Nike's reuse-a-shoe program takes your old tennis shoes and converts them into Nike Grind Foam, Track, or Fiber.

Now that you have tossed your old painful shoes, it is time to buy some new ones and get back in the game.  Check out our website for doctor approved products like the Orthaheel Walker Shoe.  This shoe provides the motion-controlling footbed resists foot odor and features a controured arch support and deep heel cup the realighns your stride so that you can achieve your fitness goals.  Don't hesitate to call our office at 419-423-1888 to set up an appointment.
